Imation plans to manufacture and introduce Imation Blu-ray and HD DVD optical

media formats. Imation will utilize modular manufacturing processes and

leverage key Imation technologies at its Oakdale, Minn. facility to enable

flexibility in responding to market requirements for the two formats. The

launch of BDR (recordable) and BD-RE (rewritable) 25GB single layer and 50GB

double layer Blu-ray formats as well as HD DVD-R (recordable) and HD DVD-RW

(rewritable) 15GB single layer and 30GB double layer HD DVD formats will allow

for three to 10 times the capacity of a standard 4.7GB DVD disc.
