Sage Software announced today the new ACT! forPalm OS 2006 product for use as a mobile productivity tool with the ACT! bySage 2006 and ACT! by Sage Premium for Workgroups 2006 contact and customermanagement solutions. ACT! for Palm OS operates as a native application onan individual's Palm OS handheld device to enable access, adding andupdating of pre-defined and custom data fields,(1) notes and history,activities, calendar information and sales opportunities. Users can alsoset up a snapshot view of their ten most regularly accessed data fields andview their most critical information by color code prioritization.(2)

Important Note: ACT! for Palm OS does not enforce certain preferences andpermissions defined in ACT!, including the "Allow history editing"preference, the "Allow notes editing" preference, the "Delete Records" userpermission, and the "Allow editing" field definition. As a result, ACT! forPalm OS users may edit contact history, edit contact notes, delete records,and edit read-only fields and these changes will be reflected in ACT! afterthe next two-way synchronization.


(1)Certain field data types may not map to ACT! for Palm OS including memoand picture fields.

(3)ACT! for Palm OS users may not add, update or delete products in theopportunity product list from the device. New products must be added in theWindows product.


(4)Companies and Groups may not be added, updated or deleted on the device.Group or Company membership may be updated on the device. A Group orCompany membership will not display if one or more of the fields used inthe Group or Company dynamic membership rules is not included in the user'ssync set.


(5)ACT! for Palm OS users may not add, update or delete custom activitytypes from the device. Custom activity types must be added in the Windowsproduct.


(6)ACT! for Palm OS users do not have the option to limit an update to asingle contact. Any change to shared notes or history that is made on thedevice goes to all shared contacts.
