AdvanceNet Health Solutions Inc. Announces Open Source License for Enterprise Pharmacy Web Solution ePostRx(TM)

AdvanceNet Health Solutions (ANSHealth),Inc., an exclusive provider of state-of-the-art ePharmacy solutions todayannounced that the source code for ePostRx™, the healthcare industry'sonly enterprise pharmacy web solution will be made available under the OSI(Open Source Initiative) approved GNU General Public License (GPL). Acommercial license shall also be available for those organizations that donot wish to release the source code as defined in the GPL. The company hasestablished an ePostRx Community accessible at www.anshealth.com. Buildablesource code, documentation and user forums for ePostRx will be available atthis site.

ePostRx™ is a full featured pharmacy management system that automatesthe prescription-fulfillment process, from Order/Rx/OTC receipt andinsurance adjudication, to DUR and dispensing for most business models,including Electronic Prescriptions, Retail, Chain Retail, Mail-OrderClinical and Central Fill. Developed using the Java programming languageand standard web technologies, ePostRx™ can serve as a direct opensource replacement for current proprietary pharmacy applications.

According to ANSHealth CEO John Strecker, "Open source applications, suchas ePostRx™, free pharmacies of the monopoly lock-in of proprietarypharmacy software, allows customization to meet 100% of the pharmacy needs,allows support to be provided by your internal technical resources or thevendor of your choice, and eliminates the possibility that your pharmacy'ssoftware will be orphaned at the election of the software vendor."

The company will offer subscription-based services and support such asconsulting, software customizations, training and certification for ePostRxthrough MyepostRx Network.
