Idokorro Launches Mobile Admin 3.0 with support for BlackBerry, Palm, Pocket PC & Nokia devices
Tuesday, 21 June 2005Idokorro Mobile announced today the commercial availability of Idokorro Mobile Admin version 3.0 with support for BlackBerry, Palm, Pocket PC and Nokia handheld devices.
Idokorro Mobile Admin provides IT administrators with the ability to securely manage their networks using wireless devices such as BlackBerry, Palm, Windows Smartphone and Pocket PC, as well as Nokia Series 60 and 80 devices. Mobile Admin lets IT administrators perform a full range of network administration tasks while on-the-go, including management of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL Servers, as well as Lotus Domino, Oracle, and Novell servers. With Mobile Admin, IT administrators can respond to and resolve problems faster, reducing costly network down-time and improving service responsiveness.
New features of Mobile Admin 3.0 include: - Now supports Palm, Windows Smartphone and Pocket PC, as well as Nokia Series 60 and 80 devices - Now supports additional BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0 management features, including the ability to "kill" handhelds, set passwords, lock handhelds, and set enterprise activation passwords - Now supports ability to browse the network and add servers to be managed by Mobile Admin, all from the handheld device
John Criswick, CEO of Idokorro Mobile, said "The response has already been very positive from IT administrators with BlackBerry wireless handhelds. Mobile Admin allows them to do their jobs from virtually anywhere. This is good for their company because problems are resolved faster--and it's good for the individual because their movement is no longer restricted when they are on-call."
Jay Wessel, Sr. Director of Technology for the Boston Celtics reported: "Implementation was painless, and we started reaping benefits immediately. Mobile Admin has made network management significantly faster and easier, helping us to maintain high service levels under what would otherwise be challenging circumstances. Recently, my cell phone was ringing like crazy with user complaints about email not flowing. I was able to quickly diagnose the problem and reboot a hung anti-spam server from the lobby of a hospital. Anywhere, any time response is expected of me and my network--Mobile Admin helps me to deliver."
Idokorro Mobile Admin 3.0 is available immediately with support for BlackBerry and Palm devices. Support for Windows Smartphone, Pocket PC and Nokia Series 60 and 80 is currently in the final rounds of beta testing and will be available shortly.
The software, as well as a 30-day free trial version, is available for immediate download from www.idokorro.com .
Also available is Idokorro's Mobile SSH which allows Telnet & SSH for remote administration of Unix, Linux, AS/400, mainframes, routers and switches. The latest release of Mobile SSH 2.1 supports all BlackBerry devices and features SSH1, SSH2, Key Authentication, VT100, 5250 and 3270 terminal emulation.
