Immunix Introduces Changes for Linux Application Security Suite

Wednesday, 16 February 2005

Immunix, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise-class host intrusion prevention solutions for Linux, today announced new security management and compliance features for the Immunix SubDomain Suite, its flagship product, along with a product name change to Immunix AppArmor.

The new version of Immunix AppArmor makes it easier to use and deploy in large, complex enterprise environments than most Linux security solutions, without the need for advanced security or Linux expertise.

AppArmor's new security management features include:

-- Compliance Reporting and Alerting -- By creating an ongoing record of
misuse activity via multi-tiered incident tracking reports, Immunix
AppArmor helps companies meet regulatory compliance for a variety of new
government standards (See "Immunix Helps Linux Companies Meet Security
Regulatory Compliance" release). In addition, AppArmor's new multiple email
scheme allows immediate notification of critical incidents across the
enterprise to provide instant response in real time on a global basis.

-- YaST GUI -- AppArmor is now fully integrated into the SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server User Interface (announced in August 2004) so that IT
professionals can quickly and effectively secure their Linux applications
without the need for deep security expertise.

-- GUI-based Profiling Wizard -- helps users customize installation and
generate highly optimized and robust security profiles, as well as easily
navigate AppArmor's features more intuitively.

"Immunix provides a wide range of new features that makes managing security and addressing compliance extremely easy for the Linux platform," said Cheryl Traverse, CEO of Immunix. "The new features will enable customers to understand how AppArmor is becoming the de facto standard for Linux host intrusion prevention in enterprise environments."
