Immunix Partners With Novacoast to Provide Linux Application Security
Thursday, 10 February 2005Immunix, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise class host intrusion prevention solutions for Linux, announced today a strategic partnership with Novacoast, a Platinum Novell reseller and a professional services company that builds and manages secure business-critical networks. The combination of Immunix's application security products with Novacoast's security and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server expertise provides Linux customers with the most secure Linux system available, and facilitates compliance with security regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
As one of Novell's most successful partners in the U.S., Novacoast has seen increasing demand from companies for secure open source solutions -- especially secure applications. Using Immunix AppArmor, Novacoast will build comprehensive Linux environments that reduce the risk to their customers' applications and servers.
"We tested a range of application security products but none compared to Immunix AppArmor," said Adam Gray, CTO for Novacoast, Inc. "With Immunix, now we can offer our customers the best network and application security available with every SUSE installation."
Novacoast configured Immunix AppArmor to report directly into existing security management consoles such as the Symantec Enterprise Security Architecture. By including Immunix AppArmor in their SUSE offering, Novacoast now provides their customers with more control in managing their own security, and the most secure Linux system available.
"Novacoast's broad spectrum of SUSE customers and server environment expertise complements Immunix's extensive Linux and security expertise," said Cheryl Traverse, CEO of Immunix. "Together we can help SUSE customers bulletproof their Linux investments."
Immunix's Unique Containment Technology for Linux Applications
Immunix has created a flexible, automated way to contain vulnerable Linux programs, even providing containment for sub-processes and scripts, so that attackers can't exploit hidden software flaws to gain control of the system. Based on their SubDomain access control technology, Immunix AppArmor proactively protects the operating system, services, modules and all Linux applications from outsider or insider threats, even protecting against software vulnerabilities that exist in the application but have yet to be discovered.
