JasperSoft Taps Start-Up Software Veteran Jose Morales as Vice President of Business Development
Thursday, 20 July 2006 JasperSoft Corporation, the leader in open source business intelligence, today announced the appointment of Jose Morales as vice president of business development. With more than 10 years at companies such as VeriSign, Inc., Mercator, E.Piphany, and PeopleSoft, Morales has vast channel experience in ERP, CRM, supply chain, and analytics-solutions which tightly integrate with the JasperSoft suite of BI solutions, JasperIntelligence. Morales is responsible for working with a rapidly growing roster of JasperSoft independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators, and large OEM partners around the world. "In today's environment, building a software company is very difficult unless you have a highly disruptive technology or business model," said Morales. "JasperSoft has both, leveraging the world's most popular open source BI technology on the market, JasperReports, with a commercial open source business model. JasperSoft is the only open source BI vendor with an established community, broad distribution, and a strong name brand, which is rarely found in such young open source companies. I'm looking forward to building new partnerships and developing exciting revenue opportunities on top of this base to further grow the company." Recently Morales helped grow the supply chain start-up R4 Global Solutions into a successful RFID systems integrator acquired by VeriSign in May 2005. While at VeriSign, he created new ISV/channel programs to integrate VeriSign technology into enterprise applications such as supply chain optimization and business intelligence, which helped generate more than 25 percent of revenue of the supply chain services division. "Enterprises want BI for everyone in their organization and open source is a highly flexible, scalable, and affordable way to achieve this," said JasperSoft CEO Paul Doscher. "Jose is leveraging the industry's biggest and fastest growing open source BI community and bringing this value proposition to new partners with established user communities. The end result is that more and more partners are able to deliver powerful, easy-to-use BI to their customers, the everyday business users." The JasperSoft JasperIntelligence platform is an integrated suite of modular, open source BI products for data access, analysis, and reporting. JasperSoft offers a highly competitive total cost of ownership solution, providing enterprises with low license costs backed by technical support, professional services, and training from the industry's foremost open source BI experts. With more than 10,000 deployments, greater than one million downloads, and more than 3,000 commercial customers benefiting from JasperSoft technology and services, JasperSoft is the most popular open source BI company on the market today. Morales earned his MBA from the Garvin School of International Management and a BS in mechanical engineering from Loyola Marymount University. About JasperSoft JasperSoft is the leader in open source business intelligence (BI).
