NCS Technologies and Progeny Partner to Provide Complete Custom Hardware and Linux Appliance Platforms
Friday, 29 July 2005Today Progeny announced a partnership with NCS Technologies, a provider of OEM appliance manufacturing services. Together, NCS and Progeny are well equipped to meet the growing demand for Linux-powered solutions in the appliance market. NCS will be a source of high-quality, custom hardware platforms and manufacturing services for Progeny's server appliance customers. Independent software vendors (ISVs) working with NCS will be able to bundle their applications with a custom Linux operating system built and maintained by Progeny.
By choosing NCS/Progeny's well-integrated server appliance solutions, ISVs can lower development costs, speed time to market, and improve quality by focusing on the application features and functionality that differentiate their offerings in the marketplace.
"Progeny is pleased to partner with NCS to offer custom Linux platforms to their customers," said Ian Murdock, Progeny Chief Strategist and Debian Linux founder. "The NCS Swift Appliance Partner Program will also benefit Progeny customers by providing a source for high-quality custom hardware."
"This agreement with Progeny illustrates NCS's commitment to providing complete OEM appliance services," commented Pranay Prakash, Executive Director, OEM Servers & Appliances for NCS. "Along with custom hardware platforms, we will be able to provide Linux customization services to current and future appliance customers."
