Novell Announces Executive Promotion
Wednesday, 4 May 2005Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL - News) today announced that Ron Hovsepian, president, North America, has been promoted to executive vice president, Novell, Inc., and president, Worldwide Field Operations, effective immediately. This promotion will further focus Novell's efforts on aligning resources with the needs of Novell customers, streamlining field operations, and speaking with one voice to the market. Mr. Hovsepian will have direct responsibility for field marketing and sales, channel sales and marketing, consulting, services and Novell's alliance program. Mr. Hovsepian, 44, joined Novell in June 2003 as president of North America, and has led the transformation of the North American organization, generating revenue growth while improving operating margins and customer satisfaction. Previously, Mr. Hovsepian held management and executive positions at IBM Corporation over a 17-year period, including worldwide general manager of IBM's distribution industries, managing global hardware and software development, sales, marketing and services. Mr. Hovsepian also served as a managing director of Internet Capital Group.
