Oracle Sets New World Record with SAP Business Information Warehouse Standard Application Two-Tier Benchmark on Fujitsu Siemens Computers PRIMEPOWER

Oracle today announced a world record SAP? Business Information Warehouse (SAP? BW) Standard Application Two-tier Benchmark result, surpassing IBM DB2's best result and underscoring the superior query processing power of Oracle? Database 10g running a variety of enterprise applications.

Running the SAP BW 3.5 workload, Oracle Database 10g achieved the leading world record performance result of 182,340 QS/h (query navigation steps per hour) on a Fujitsu Siemens Computers PRIMEPOWER 550 server with 8 SPARC64 V processors1 and the Sun Solaris 10 operating system. The scenario included a 16 GB main memory, which corresponds to 233,600,000 records in the fact table.

"This benchmark solidifies Oracle Database 10g's leadership position for running a wide range of applications and meeting significant performance demands," said Richard Sarwal, vice president of Server Performance, Oracle. "This is a major milestone in demonstrating our ability to deliver high-performance, data processing power beyond what our competitors offer customers."
