OSS CEO to Speak in New York on Pathology of Secrecy, and Emergence of Collective Public Intelligence
Thursday, 24 November 2005 Robert David STEELE Vivas [Vivas is the matronymic, Steele is the last name], CEO of OSS.Net, a global open source intelligence (OSINT) provider, has agreed to speak in New York on 3 and 4 December 2005, on the pathology of secrecy and the emergence of collective public intelligence. Visit http://www.visionquestlive.com/.
"Howard Bloom, author of 'Global Brain' among many other works, is a genius, and has put together a tremendous program focused on 'Reinventing Capitalism: Putting Soul in the Machine,'" Steele says. "I will speak on Saturday about the pathology of secrecy, where people like Henry Kissinger make bad decisions based on highly classified but often wrong information, while shutting out intelligent iconoclasts who are closer to ground truth. There is also an emerging literature on how a life-long immersion in the classified world can make many people clinically insane, I will touch on this as well.
"On Sunday I will join Howard and Dr. James Hughes to talk about the emergence of collective public intelligence. I anticipate legislation sponsoring an Open Source Agency in the near future, and believe that the day will come when there is a Public Daily Brief that is vastly superior to the President's Daily Brief, a highly classified mish-mash with little strategic value. It will raise the bar, and force the classified world to do better.
"America is adrift because inadequate secret intelligence allowed the Vice President and his neo-conservative cohorts to hijack national security policy from more experienced officers including Brent Scowcroft, James Baker, and Colin Powell. We got into this war with Iraq, this conquest and invasion, because the Executive went nuts on us behind closed doors and then lied in public.
"Collective public intelligence -- unleashing the genius and common sense of the American people -- is the only antidote to high crimes and misdemeanors in the White House. We support President Bush, and we look forward to welcoming Condi Rice as Vice President.
"I will bring my own set of geniuses together in January. See http://www.oss.net/IOP. For a briefing on the future of intelligence, see http://www.oss.net/Hackers."
