Pandemic Flu Survival Guide for Handhelds Released
Thursday, 23 February 2006 The first mobile, comprehensive database on the potential global flu pandemic was released today. The Pandemic Flu Survival Guide™, from Stephenson Strategies http://stephensonstrategies.com (Medfield, MA) and Town Compass, LLC http://towncompass.com (Seattle, WA), is available for only $9.95 (including updates) from mobile content web sites, including PocketDirectory.com. It can be quickly and easily downloaded and installed to Palm OS® and Microsoft® Windows Mobile® handhelds and smartphones. Homeland security strategist and planning expert W. David Stephenson developed the database by compiling the most vital and current information from the most authoritative and respected sources, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the US pandemicflu.gov web site, and the UK Health Protection Agency, supplemented by material from other sources. The data is compressed into more than 150 listings in 6 categories: sources for latest information, preparations, staying healthy, travel precautions, the illness and its treatment, and human & economic impacts. The information ranges from checklists for family medical and food supplies to an extensive set of business continuity recommendations. E-mail and/or RSS feeds will notify subscribers of updates as the changing situation dictates. Stephenson Strategies and Town Compass previously partnered to publish the Terrorism Survival Guide™. They are negotiating with several large corporations for customized versions of databases that would also contain company-specific business planning and continuity information for their global, mobile workforces. Robert Usibelli, co-founder of Town Compass said, "We believe in using our DataViewer software to deliver reference content to the mobile community in a format that is optimized and easy to navigate on small screens. Stephenson Strategies has once again developed a database of vital information and we are proud to extend our partnership to publish data relevant to Avian and Pandemic Flu risks and responses.» Stephenson, known for innovative homeland security strategies capitalizing on personal technology to make the public informed partners in prevention and response, said, «The Pandemic Flu Survival Guide should be particularly helpful to business travelers and other individuals who need to remain current on the latest information as the threatened flu pandemic evolves. Everyone should be properly prepared for this potential global crisis."
