PlayApp Unveils Multimedia Successor to MP3s for Labels And Artists
Monday, 22 August 2005PlayApp, internet distributor of multimedia content, has released it's latest, most unique PlayApp, a Flash based, music video PlayApp of rock musician Toby Slater's song, "Consumption" from the album of the same name.
By embedding Macromedia Flash media in a PlayApp, it now becomes possible for many Macromedia content developers to create and distribute rich multimedia PlayApps, a marketable successor to MP3s. This latest PlayApp, "Consumption by Toby Slater" created for Windows XP PCs, can be downloaded for free from the www.PlayApp.com website.
"We feel that once people download this PlayApp and try out the other PlayApps we have available, that they'll begin to see what type of media will finally come after MP3s. People are insatiable, they'll always want more, and PlayApps give them just that. More to see, hear, and interact with, things not possible with flat file MP3s," says John Willsey, inventor of PlayApps.
PlayApps give labels and artists a way to be in complete control of their content. By using PlayApps, they can distribute all their media: music, video, books, games in a similar, easy to use digital form that is sold securely using DRM execution protection, not DRM copy protection, or simply given away. It allows them to sell their content above the break-even selling price of 99 cents, since PlayApps can contain various media to make them more valuable to the consumer.
PlayApps can be created for all operating systems: Mac, Windows, and Linux. As programs, they can make use of any type of media file: Flash, WMA, AAC, AVI, Divx, Ogg, even MP3s.
"Anyone looking into setting up a business to sell digital media through the internet and want to leapfrog the competition should definitely take a look at what PlayApps can offer them and their customers. PlayApp, is the elusive, profitable business model that everyone has been looking for, but haven't yet found," says John Willsey.
