Power Manager 3.2 -- Reduce a Mac's Energy Costs
Wednesday, 8 February 2006 Power Manager is a program for saving energy by automating your Mac. You can schedule your Mac to automatically: - Start up or wake; - Shut down; - Restart; - Log out; - Fast user switch; - Sleep. Download the free 30 day demonstration http://www.dssw.co.uk/powermanager/dsswpowermanager.dmg.zip New features in Power Manager 3.2 include: - New fast user switch event; - New inactivity event trigger; - New Dashboard widget shows pending events; - Automatically wakes for scheduled events; - Command line option for installing new schedules. The new Dashboard widget lets you quickly see pending events. The widget shows the active schedule including adjustments for events you cancel or delay. The inactivity trigger lets you perform more than just the traditional sleep or log out on idle time. You can schedule your Mac to fast user switch or shut down after periods of no activity. With this functionality you can have your Mac shut down automatically after a couple of hours of no use; saving you running costs. An improved scheduler ensures events occur even if your Mac is asleep. Power Manager will wake your Mac from sleep 30 seconds before scheduled events. No more missed events due to your Mac falling asleep. The new command line option lets network administrators and advanced users apply schedules remotely. Power Manager 3.2 can load a new schedule from a web server or network file system; this makes managing your network even easier.
