Runtime Revolution Express 2.2 Free for Novell SUSE LINUX Users
Thursday, 20 January 2005Runtime Revolution announced today that all users of SUSE LINUX will be able to receive Revolution Express 2.2 free via the Novell Cool Solutions website. The offer accompanies a series of tutorials on the Novell Cool Solutions website by computing expert Tom Russell (known as Stomfi) on how to program on the Linux platform using Revolution Express.
“We are delighted to provide Revolution Express to Novell SUSE LINUX users,” said Kevin Miller, CEO of Runtime Revolution. “Revolution Express represents the ideal way for professional or novice programmers to develop custom, multimedia, Internet and database applications for Linux.”
Revolution Express 2.2 is part of the multi platform range of developer tools from Runtime Revolution, which includes Dreamcard and Revolution Studio and Enterprise. Revolution Express lets users build stand-alone applications for Linux, users who upgrade to Dreamcard 2.5 will be able to build stacks which operate via a player on every major platform. Those who upgrade to Revolution Studio or Enterprise 2.5 can build free standing applications for every major platform.
“Forget complex programming languages, Revolution Express means that anyone can now create software” Russell said. “Its easy-to-use interface and English-like programming language make it ideal for my newbie oriented tutorials, but its advanced features also make Revolution suitable for professional and enterprise users.”
Stomfi uses Runtime Revolution Express 2.2.1 on SUSE LINUX because it is the only easy way to create professional bug free graphical user interfaces for applications without having to learn a technical programming language. The Transcript language used in Revolution has made it possible for Stomfi to show newbie users how to create sophisticated windowing interfaces complete with buttons, click fields, graphics, sounds, and interfacing to the powers of the Linux shell. The amazing Revolution help system, examples and on line support, both from www.runrev.com and the user community gives Stomfi the means to quickly find out and apply any aspect he needs to inform his readers.
Availability Existing SUSE LINUX users are able to obtain Revolution Express 2.2.1 free of charge and can do so from the Novell Cool Solutions website. Novell Cool Solutions can be visited at: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/
