SteelEye Technology Announces Sales and Marketing Agreement with Sendmail

Friday, 12 August 2005

SteelEye Technology, an innovator in data and application availability management, and Sendmail, the global provider of email security infrastructure, today announced the signing of a joint sales and marketing agreement and the demonstration of clustered Sendmail Advanced Messaging Server(TM) (SAMS) in Booth 362 at LinuxWorld-San Francisco.

Sendmail and SteelEye have cooperated to engineer a solution supporting Many-to-One POP/IMAP server configurations for enterprise accounts who desire to deploy a single backup system to protect multiple active SAMS servers. SteelEye's LifeKeeper for Linux constantly monitors the health of the entire SAMS application stack including client and network connections, data access, application processes, and servers and takes automated recovery actions on detection of any problem. This solution, demonstrated at LinuxWorld-San Francisco, is in production at customer sites and lays the foundation for a new cooperative selling and marketing agreement between Sendmail and SteelEye.

"SteelEye is an established leader in Linux application and data availability management, and our companies have partnered to deploy highly-available carrier-class POP/IMAP server for message storage and access solutions for a number of large customers. We have taken the logical next step in our relationship and entered into a formal agreement for joint sales and marketing activities. We are pleased to bring our joint customers the benefit of two innovative companies cooperating to solve critical business needs," said John Ore, Director of Product Management for Sendmail.

"There is increasing demand for deploying messaging infrastructure on Linux, and Sendmail is the vendor of choice. At the same time, email has become business critical, so providing high availability protection is mandatory. Our joint customers and business partners have been encouraging us to work more closely together to build an integrated solution and today's announcement and demonstration is the result of that endeavor," commented Bob Williamson, Vice President of Products for SteelEye Technology.

LifeKeeper for Sendmail can be seen at Booth 362 during LinuxWorld-San Francisco.
