Student-Based Pricing Model for Thinkfree Office Software Offered to Schools
Tuesday, 21 December 2004To address the needs of the academic market, HaansoftUSA, Inc. is offering an Academic License Program as an affordable "Office" alternative for primary and secondary schools.
Thinkfree Office® is a Microsoft® Office compatible productivity suite that includes word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation graphics applications. Thinkfree Office can seamlessly create, open, edit, and save Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint® documents and can run on virtually any Internet-capable operating systems including Microsoft Windows®, Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and Linux.
Through the HaansoftUSA Academic License Program, primary and secondary schools (K-12) are eligible for a site license for $1 per student. This licensing program provides participating schools unlimited internal use of Thinkfree Office. Students, faculty and staff may all use Thinkfree Office on any computer on campus, including systems in the computer labs, classrooms, libraries and administration offices. In addition to providing a perpetual site license, HaansoftUSA will also provide product updates for one year.
"HaansoftUSA is offering schools today a cost-effective alternative to other more costly office suites. This is a major budget concern to schools and districts across the country," said Edward Coloma, Managing Director. "The Academic Licensing Program provides educators a full 'Office' suite at a most affordable price."
