Technalign, Inc. Launches TaFusion MEPIS ON THE GO Portable Linux
Saturday, 21 May 2005Technalign, Inc. has started shipments of TaFusion MEPIS ON THE GO portable Linux Version XI.
Retailing for only $24.95, TaFusion MEPIS ON THE GO Linux is designed to be the simplest, most secure and portable Linux on the market today. ON THE GO Linux allows users to store information on a USB 2.0 key and boot almost any computer with their desktop. ON THE GO includes everything from office tools to mail. A user simply boots the computer with the ON THE GO CD and they are running Linux with no installation. ON THE GO uses Firefox as its browser.
ON THE GO allows for auto-detection of most hardware, as with all TaFusion MEPIS products, so users are up and running quickly. ON THE GO also allows users to use their hard drive and to store data on both the hard drive and USB key, if desired. The free version will only work with IDE drives.
Dianne Ursini, CEO of Technalign, Inc. said, "ON THE GO portable Linux works well for both the professional on the go as well as a user at home with children. At home or at the office, a user simply pops in the CD and all settings and documents are available without the need to install. Users with children can boot the CD with the USB key and run a full Linux system without worry about their data integrity or loss."
Warren Woodford, CEO of MEPIS, LLC, explained. "In keeping with our commitment to the community, a free download version, which does not work with a USB key, but allows an individual to run from the CD and use an IDE hard drive, will be available for download."
TaFusion ON THE GO MEPIS Linux will be bundled with the TaFusion MEPIS PRO Linux under the TaHotFusion brand for an added value. The user can install TaFusion MEPIS PRO on the computer while storing mail and other information such as office documents on the USB key and take the ON THE GO CD as well as the USB key with them on the road.
For a limited time, Technalign is offering TaFusion MEPIS Linux products at their online store for a discount of 40% off MSRP. A test drive of the product is available for $2.99 or freely downloadable.
