Updated Guru Labs Linux Troubleshooting Class with Flash Demo

Guru Labs, L.C. announces an update to the GL314 Linux Troubleshooting Course. Updates include support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and SUSE Linux 9.3, additional troubleshooting problems, and an update to the tsmenu troubleshooting program.

The GL314 is a five day course built around Guru Lab's unique tsmenu ( troubleshooting menu ) program. Using tsmenu, students are able to browse problem descriptions, launch a problem to break their system, obtain hints and check for successful resolution. The process of finding an appropriate fix allows students to test their knowledge of Linux while improving troubleshooting skills.

With the latest update, the GL314 now supports an unprecedented total of seven Linux distributions: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4, Fedora Core 2 and 3, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, and SUSE Linux Professional 9.1 and 9.3. A new version of the tsmenu program has been released with improved scenario checking and additional troubleshooting problems. These include new problems for iptables, Syslog-ng, TCP wrappers, RAID and LVM, a total of over 120 troubleshooting problems.

Evan McNabb, Guru Labs instructor added, "When we first created this class we had brainstorming sessions with Guru Labs instructors and outside experts. We tried to list every conceivable, fixable, Linux problem we could. Unfortunately, some of the really tough scenarios didn't make it into the first cut of the course. With this new release, we've added some real doozies and brought the total over 120 scenarios."
