Versora Partners with South Korean Linux Distributor IgetLinux, Inc. to Distribute Migration Software Tools

Versora announced today a distribution partnership with South Korean based IgetLinux, Inc. for its Windows to Linux migration software tools: Progression Desktop, Progression DB and Progression Web.

“Linux adoption in South Korea is a major priority within many organizations and enterprises,” notes IgetLinux, Inc. CEO HeeTak Moon. “Our customers are asking for solutions that ease the transition from Windows to Linux and Versora’s software tools meet that demand.”

Progression Desktop is an enterprise-ready tool that migrates data and settings from Windows desktops to Linux desktops in a predictable and repeatable fashion. Progression Desktop automates the migration of data, email, user settings, office productivity suites, music, pictures, instant messaging, and Internet browsers.

Winner of a Linux Product Excellence Award at the recent LinuxWorld Boston Conference & Expo, Progression DB automates the migration from Microsoft SQL Server to databases running on Linux including MySQL, PostgreSQL and Ingres r3.

IgetLinux, Inc. will also be distributing Versora’s Progression Web which automates the migration from Microsoft IIS Web Server to Apache on Linux.

“Given Microsoft IIS Web Server’s costly licensing fees, security vulnerabilities and lack of flexibility, there has already been a massive migration to Apache web servers,” notes Sheffey. "Progression Web provides companies an automated method of quickly and accurately moving websites to the highly stable and secure Apache environment. What typically is a major project involving several days of manual reconfiguration and programming is reduced to a few hours when using Progression Web."
