Wind River Solidifies Linux Leadership Position in Telecommunications Market

Wind River Systems, Inc (NASDAQ: WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO) today announced availability of the Reference Design Release (RDR) of Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition. Platform for Network Equipment is the first Wind River platform to include a complete Linux reference file system with a rich set of networking middleware and applications. Wind River customers have already licensed over 1,000 developer seats and begun standardizing their Linux-based product development with Wind River. Their commitment, as noted in separate Wind River announcements today, solidifies Wind River's position as the leading provider of Linux-based device software solutions that help customers develop and run device software better, faster, at a lower cost and more reliably.
